Baby Owls

Once upon a time their were three owl babies who lived with their mammy. There names were Sarah, Percy and Bill. One night they woke up and their mammy was gone away. Sarah said “Oh my god, she's probably gone hunting”. “I suppose so” said Percy. “I want my mammy” said Bill. They all went outside. A big branch for Sarah, a small branch for Percy and a piece of Ivy for Bill. “I want my mammy” said Bill. “she'll be back soon” said Sarah. “Back soon” said Percy. “I want my Mammy” said Bill. It was dark and they had to be brave for the things that moved all around them. “She'll bring us mice and things that are nice” said Sarah. “I suppose so” said Percy. “I want my Mammy” said Bill. They sat and thought, (all owls think a lot)”I think we should all sit on my branch” said Sarah, and they did the three of them together. “Suppose she got lost” said Sarah, “or a fox got her” said Percy, “I want my mammy” said Bill. They closed their eyes and wished their owl mammy would come, and she did. Soft and silently she swooped through the trees to Sarah, Percy and Bill. “Mammy”, they cried as they flapped their wings and danced and bounced up and down on their branch. “What's all the fuss?”, their owl mammy asked, “You knew I’d come back”. The baby owls thought, (all owls think a lot) “ I knew it” said Sarah. “Me too” said Percy. “I Love my Mammy” said Bill.

Here is another version of the same story:

Once upon a time there were three baby owls Sarah, Percy and Bill. One night they woke up and their mammy was gone. “Where's Mummy?” said Sarah. “Oh my goodness!” said Percy. “I want my mummy!” said Bill. The baby owls thought (all owls think a lot) “ I think she's gone hunting” said Sarah, “to get our food” said Percy. “ I want my Mummy” said Bill. The baby owls came out of their house. A big branch for Sarah, a small branch for Percy and a bit of old ivy for Bill. “She'll be back soon” said Percy. “I want my mummy” said Bill. They closed their eyes and wished that she would come home, when they opened their eyes again she was there “What's all the fuss?” she said smiling.
