Last Monday we did some baking with Mrs. O'Mahony. We were baking Oaty Flapjacks. We did one batch with chocolate and one with nothing on it. This is our second lesson and we are hoping to have five lessons alogether. We need aprons or an old t-shirt in case it gets messy. We used Flahavan's Jumbo Oats and Progress Oatlets. When they came out of the oven after 30 minutes some of us tasted them for our lunch, and others brought them home. One person decided not to eat the chocolate ones because she is off chocolate for Lent. We learned that sugar was made in Ireland but it is not made in Ireland any more. It is made in Germany. Germany bought the "Siúcra" label, and they now sell it.
Mrs. O'Mahony showed us how to use the oven. We learned about safety. You should never put your hand on the top plates. We say thank you to Mrs. O'Mahony for teaching us. The teacher took some photos of us baking.
